WASTED
WASTED is a program designed to share with and teach young adults about the deadly consequences of drinking, driving, and other poor choices they can make. It is a focused, intense, 50 minute presentation given by Jim Lawrence, Flight Nurse. Jim has spent the last 23 years taking care of those injured in southwest Missouri in the Neuro-Trauma Intensive Care unit, and 19 of those years as a full time Helicopter Flight Nurse. Throughout the WASTED program, Jim shares personal and detailed experiences directly from the patient side, inside the car at the crash scene, on helicopter flights, and the following days in the hospital. As seen through the eyes of a Flight Nurse, it gives those present the harsh reality of poor choices. The WASTED program is available to senior high and junior high schools in southwest Missouri.
