Coronary Artery Risk Detection in Area Children (CARDIAC) Kids is a cholesterol screening program that identifies Barry and Lawrence County 5th- and 6th-grade students at risk for heart disease and diabetes.
The program serves 12 school districts in the rural areas around Monett. Committed to Kids is the intervention arm of CARDIAC Kids that provides education to students and families to foster positive nutrition and activity behavior change.
