Direct family assistance is provided for families of sick or injured children ages 0 to 18 via our Family Care Grants and our Special Needs Fund.
- Special Needs Fund: Offers direct financial assistance for special medical needs that are not covered by private insurance or Medicaid. Medical needs that generally qualify for this type of assistance include prosthetics, wheelchairs, braces, hearing aids, travel expenses to out-of-town physicians appointments, and more.
- Family Care Grants: Provide financial assistance to families with CoxHealth hospital and/or therapy bills for their child. Hospitalization may be due to illness, injury or accident, and therapy may include physical, occupational or speech.
Additionally, meal trays are provided for families with children hospitalized at Cox South and meal vouchers for families with infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
