Are you a certified scuba diver? Play poker for a cause 1-4 p.m., Saturday, March 24, at DiVentures Scuba and Swim Center in the sixth annual Underwater Poker Tournament. All proceeds raised during this event will benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals of CoxHealth. This event was originally scheduled for Feb. 18, but the date was changed to allow more divers and non-divers to participate.
This Five-Card Draw poker tournament includes lunch and a reception provided by Dominos Pizza, and a Poker 101 briefing prior to play. Buy-in for the tournament is $40, and participants can fundraise for additional donations to CMN Hospitals in their honor. Top fundraisers and finishers will receive prizes ranging from DiVentures gift cards and T-shirts to dive bags and equipment.
New this year is a special “Go Fish” table, just for certified scuba divers ages 10-16, with a buy-in of $10. DiVentures is also offering Try Scuba classes at 10 and 11:30 a.m. the day of the tournament for people interested in learning more about Scuba. This one-hour introductory class is $50, and $25 of that fee will be donated to CMN Hospitals. All equipment needed for the class is included.
